Meet Crawford Advocacy Founder Joe Crawford

Joe Crawford has over forty (40) years of extensive experience in the legal services industry. As a trial attorney, Crawford represents clients in complex litigation matters. He has successfully represented major law firms and their lawyers in cases involving legal malpractice claims, negligent misrepresentation and fraud claims, motions to disqualify, and allegations of conflicts of interest and violations of the Rules of Professional Conduct.

In addition to his malpractice experience, Joe has a broad civil litigation practice. He has tried cases in many areas of the law, including product liability, breach of contract, fraud, securities, defamation, insurance, and cases arising out of mergers and acquisitions, as well as death penalty litigation and pro bono cases. Joe offers his services throughout the greater Philadelphia area and beyond. His accomplished career has lead him to be recognized in several different legal industry publication which are listed below.

Joe is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and served as the Chair of the College’s Committee on Teaching Trial and Appellate Advocacy from 2018 to 2021.
He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in Commercial Litigation and First Amendment Law and in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business in Commercial Litigation.
Joe earned his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was Articles Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review, and his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from St. Joseph’s College.
Before establishing this firm, Joe practiced as an associate and partner at Schnader, Harrison, Segal & Lewis (from 1979 – 1991); and then as a partner or shareholder at Wolf Block (1991-2006), Pepper Hamilton ( 2006-2019), and Hangley Aronchick ( 2019-2022).
